Letter from the Editor

Again, JIER has a great selection of articles on information systems teaching and education that provide some ideas for enhancing your curriculum. In this issue, two articles (Marchewka and Liu and Wang) explore some of the nuances of object-oriented approaches to systems design and development. Although 00 still has a very small market share in business organizations (less than 10%), our students will be ready when it finally becomes the dominant paradigm. Sarker, Sahay, and Lau explore "virtual teams" across three countries-Norway, Canada, and the United States-truly global. In order to capture the interest of their students, Erbach and Dobing explore the use of games as programming topics, and Grundy uses simulations. Since we just established a chapter of lAIM's honor society, Alpha Iota Mu, at George Washington University, Harper, Buffington, and Harder's framework would have been useful last semester. For those interested in the honor society, the students and the faculty were very excited about the induction and the recognition. We would encourage you to investigate beginning a chapter at your university.

In addition to the wonderful reviewers, there are associate editors working with authors to finalize their papers for publication. Many thanks for all your comments and suggestions. You definitely help JIER be a quality journal.
