The Marriage Problem: An Interesting Relationship

Representing a marriage between employees in a database seems easy, but it reveals interesting technical problems including an important general problem. It serves as a tremendous launching pad for class room discussion of both the technical problems and the ethical obligations of an analyst.

Norman Pendegraft is Associate Professor of Management Information Systems in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Idaho. He has taught database design for many years. His research interest is study information system security and behavior via simulation.
